Share Homes is a non-profit organization with a Federal Tax ID number of 94-3042623.
According to the Share Homes Articles of Incorporation “This corporation is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.”
Since the inception of Share Homes, any and all donations have been used exclusively (100%) to benefit the children served by the Agency.
Different fund raising events have been coordinated through the years by a kind, generous, local Lodi woman, Rita Sperling. Ms. Sperling is a beautician with a heart of gold. She has unselfishly donated her time and effort in raising thousands of dollars to assist the Share Homes children. These funds have been raised through various exciting social activities such as a fashion show, an art auction, golf tournament, and private parties in her personal back yard.
Each Christmas since 1988, Ms. Sperling has volunteered to help raise funds for purchasing gifts not only for the foster children, but also for the birth children (under 18) of the foster parents. She has a special arrangement with the local KMART company which assembles and stores the bicycles and even helps us load them into our trucks, vans and trailers for the day of the party. There has been an average of 35 bicycles/tricycles per year.
Donations have also been used to take the children on special trips – Disneyland, Marine World, Great America, the mountains to see snow (some kids for the very first time), the ocean (some kids for the very first time). Small scholarships have helped children in college as well as helping emancipated youth start living on their own. Special Duffel Bag suitcases have also been purchased with donated money.
The kindness and compassion shown by our donors and volunteers brings the team of caring adults full circle in an effort to touch the lives of children in a meaningful way. We strongly value the efforts of those who contribute in such a significant way. It is these individuals who provide those extras to our children they might not otherwise receive.
